About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of advanced building automation systems and HVAC control solutions
  • Design and program advanced building automation systems, including site-specific configuration and control algorithms
  • Resolve design issues and make recommendations to management
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Comply with project requirements and company and client standards
  • Create and document clear design documentation for project teams
  • Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems
  • Test programs and interfaces before commissioning
  • Provide technical support to sales representatives
  • Support functional testing of complex building systems
  • Advise the team on design and programming standards, components, and practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience designing HVAC control systems or building automation systems, OR college diploma, technical certificate, or trade school diploma with 8+ years of experience, OR high school diploma with 10+ years of experience
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbally and in writing
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada without restriction
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
  • Graduate degree in an engineering- or construction-related discipline (an asset)
  • Proficiency with building automation software and related engineering tools (an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, and N2 protocols (an asset)
  • Understanding of enterprise IP networks (an asset)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio or similar diagramming software (an asset)
  • Proficiency in writing sequences of operation and creating schematic representations of systems (an asset)
  • Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment more than 8 feet above the ground and lift loads of up to 50 lb (an asset)
