About the role

  • MineStar Performance Engineer optimizing Caterpillar’s Fleet and Command for Hauling mining technologies. Driving customer safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across Alberta mine operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert supporting safe and effective MineStar Fleet and Command for Hauling customer performance
  • Lead and deliver Site Assessments, continuous improvement initiatives, and performance tool implementations
  • Apply methodologies and tools to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control MineStar application performance
  • Coach and mentor Caterpillar teams, dealers, and mining customers
  • Advise customers on operational best practices and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Maintain and update operational documentation with best practices and performance insights
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to enhance technology offerings
  • Support contractual and non-contractual customer performance commitments
  • Travel approximately 25–50% to Caterpillar offices and remote mine locations

Requirements

  • Experience in surface mining operations
  • Knowledge of MineStar Fleet, Command for Hauling, or other mining technologies
  • Strong understanding of operational excellence and mining processes
  • Experience using performance improvement methodologies
  • Comfort working across data analysis, coding, validation, documentation, coaching, and project management
  • Strong personal safety culture and ability to influence safe behaviors across diverse mine sites
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong change-management mindset
  • Ability to build relationships and influence customers toward improvement
  • Commitment to expanding expertise across additional MineStar applications
  • Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Data/Operational discipline
  • Experience in Command for Hauling and deep knowledge of MineStar
  • Experience in conventional or autonomous surface mining operations
  • Experience with mining technology systems or heavy mining equipment
  • Professional Engineer designation or ability to register as a Professional Engineer considered advantageous
  • French or Spanish considered advantageous
  • Ability to travel approximately 25–50%
  • Must work onsite five days a week
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
