About the role

  • Senior communications manager shaping CBC/Radio-Canada’s corporate content, editorial and social media strategy. Leading national campaigns, social channels and editorial teams for Canada’s public broadcaster.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the content and editorial strategy supporting the 2025-30 corporate strategy
  • Establish and maintain quality standards across all content
  • Protect and elevate the CBC/Radio-Canada brand reputation across communication channels
  • Develop and execute social media strategy across LinkedIn, YouTube and Meta
  • Lead executive communications for the President and CEO
  • Contribute to advertising and engagement campaigns promoting CBC/Radio-Canada’s public service media role
  • Develop and maintain the master editorial calendar
  • Oversee editorial content creation and messaging quality across communication channels
  • Support crisis communications planning and execution
  • Define campaign KPIs and analyze performance metrics to optimize initiatives
  • Provide best-practice guidance to leadership and internal teams
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships across Corporate Communications, Corporate Development, CBC and Radio-Canada teams
  • Lead, mentor and inspire team members
  • Set team objectives and priorities
  • Oversee the budget and optimize return on investment

Requirements

  • Five to seven years’ communications experience, ideally within a large-scale organization undergoing transformation
  • Proven track record designing national communications plans and overseeing high-quality deliverables
  • Deep understanding of social media strategy and operations
  • Experience with ad management platforms and web analytics tools
  • Sophisticated understanding of the modern media ecosystem
  • Commitment to journalistic independence
  • Ability to adapt communication styles for creative and unionized environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and engage diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to operate effectively in a bilingual environment (English/French)
  • Strong writing ability in both official languages
