About the role

  • Senior Security Consultant managing Microsoft Sentinel and Defender managed security services for CDW customers. Owning client accounts, optimizing SIEM operations, and driving automation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing client support for complex technical performance issues
  • Develop recommendations to ensure adherence to service level agreements and customer service excellence
  • Specialize in Managed Detection and Response services using Microsoft Sentinel and Defender
  • Act as subject matter expert and primary technical owner for assigned accounts
  • Deploy, tune, and optimize Microsoft Sentinel and Defender platforms
  • Perform new customer onboarding
  • Act as escalation point for SOC analysts and assigned customers
  • Handle technical account management responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly service review calls
  • Perform quality assurance reviews
  • Mentor the team with technical advice and support
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to drive efficiencies and reduce troubleshooting time and false-positive alerts
  • Build client trust and influence loyalty using Trusted Advisor techniques
  • Run client meetings and differentiate services per MSS positioning
  • Identify and manage out-of-scope requirements and facilitate resolution
  • Perform on-call duties according to the agreed schedule
  • Develop and improve standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles
  • Develop methodologies, strategies, process documentation, and templates
  • Develop new and tune existing use cases
  • Execute recommendations to improve client security posture
  • Conduct technical, procedural, and incident-handling knowledge transfer training
  • Develop internal and external reports and presentations
  • Contribute to service definition and content packs
  • Improve workflows and drive automation
  • Participate in self-paced training, training sessions, and shadowing activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or 3-year diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, or a Technology related field and 5 years of Security Support experience in a client-focused environment and/or working in a security operations center, OR 9 years total of Information Technology experience including 5 years of Security Support experience
  • At least 2 advanced or expert level certifications in Managed Security Services discipline
  • Strong hands-on working experience on SIEM technologies
  • Availability to work shifts including weekends, holidays, and overtime, and perform on-call duties
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level IT infrastructure and information systems in a Managed Security Services discipline
  • Direct involvement working with internal and external teams to implement and troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and services configurations
  • Experience presenting ideas and solutions to clients
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships and conduct complex work in a team consulting environment
  • Ability to select resolutions and techniques meeting technical requirements and best practices
  • Clear, concise, and engaging communication and presentation skills
  • Collaborative problem-solving and mentorship ability
  • Ability to work independently and step into leadership roles
  • Consistently achieves high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Microsoft Sentinel experience is a plus; QRadar, Splunk, Exabeam, and SumoLogic experience is an asset
  • Microsoft SC-200 and SC-100 certifications are a plus
