About the role

  • Cyber/Tech Claims Specialist handling complex cyber claims for CFC’s Canadian admitted insurance offering. Coordinating policyholders, brokers, and specialist vendors from notification through settlement.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively handle a cross-section of cyber and technology claims on behalf of CFC from first notification of loss to settlement.
  • Foster good relationships with policyholders and brokers and drive excellent customer service.
  • Actively work with a panel of response vendors during claims incidents.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate reserving, identify and pursue relevant third-party recoveries, and reduce claims leakage.
  • Prioritise competing demands and identify deadlines stipulated within lawsuits, demand letters, and claims queries.
  • Work closely with CFC’s panel of service providers to ensure quality and value-for-money service within required timeframes.
  • Perform general claims administration, including electronic file management, filing, payment requests, and producing management information.
  • Work with underwriters to provide feedback on claims issues and trends and with the Products team on product and wording development.
  • Identify and escalate claims-related issues to the line manager where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the CFC Global Claims and Incident Response team and forensic, legal, and PR vendors.
  • Work with Underwriting, Finance, IT, and Products teams while complying with relevant legal, state, and statutory requirements and obligations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience handling complex claims, ideally in Cyber and technology
  • A strong understanding of claims processes, reserving, coverage analysis and litigation management.
  • Experience working with brokers, policyholders and external vendors, with a clear focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • The confidence to manage competing priorities, deadlines and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented and commercially minded approach, with sound judgement and strong communication skills.
  • Relevant claims licensing for Canada, or a willingness to complete any required licensing exams with CFC’s support.
