About the role

  • Project Manager leading Champion Petfoods’ global packaging refresh across design, commercialization, and sustainability compliance. Coordinating agencies, packaging engineers, marketing, and supply chain partners.

Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end creative process and spearhead commercial execution of the global brand packaging refresh
  • Lead the functional transformation of packaging across the premium product portfolio
  • Manage the entire workflow from design to execution
  • Guide integration of sustainability goals into new packaging
  • Manage transition to more sustainable materials and compliance with EU PPWR and California SB 54
  • Coordinate creative agencies, marketing brand managers, technical packaging engineers, and supply chain partners
  • Manage operational workflow, timelines, and action items across design, prepress, and final technical execution
  • Manage artwork and structural design updates across the SKU catalog
  • Ensure packaging materials support required printing, finishing, and structural aesthetics
  • Lead cross-functional teams through product commercialization from concept validation and trial runs to commercial launch
  • Create and manage project timelines and mitigation plans
  • Link with Kitchen, Ingredient supply, Regulatory, and material suppliers
  • Track and validate sustainable materials, including PCR content
  • Maintain packaging metrics tracking systems for sustainability goals and regulatory reporting
  • Design inventory run-out strategies with S&OP and Supply Chain to minimize obsolete packaging write-offs
  • Ensure packaging integrity across retail and e-commerce distribution channels
  • Coordinate shipping tests, transit trials, including ISTA testing, and packaging line trials

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 5+ years of dedicated project management experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or a related industry
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects, particularly packaging artwork refreshes, new product launches, or brand renovations
  • Proficiency with modern PM software (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, MS Project) and artwork management/approval platforms
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional peers and senior leadership
  • Practical understanding of packaging sustainability trends and regulations is a strong asset
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred
