About the role

  • Bilingual underwriting operations associate supporting CNA's commercial insurance underwriting, pricing, policy servicing, and renewals. Twelve-month contract based in Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, or Calgary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial underwriting analysis and documentation, including summarizing insured operations and running initial pricing analysis
  • Handle most endorsement referral requests without underwriting involvement, analyze and resolve referrals, make recommendations, and engage agencies for clarification or missing information
  • Establish support needs for new and renewal policies and gather relevant account information to quote or issue policies
  • Analyze account-specific information and summarize findings for Underwriter review
  • Liaise between the field and processing centers to ensure timely account setup, clearing, rating, issuance, and renewal preparation
  • Coordinate account processing and servicing
  • Lead pre-renewal meetings and build renewal schedules of key activities
  • Prepare and execute underwriting and pricing exhibits, including updated exposures, rating and pricing worksheets, and account information
  • Manage account documentation and ensure file completeness and quality
  • Communicate with external producers and customers as the first-line contact on account matters while identifying upsell or account-rounding opportunities

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience in an office environment
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting including insurance products, policy processing procedures and documentation
  • Strong time management, analytical and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks
  • Strong capability to advise and coach others
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and ability to interact with a wide variety of people daily in person, via telephone and email
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other enterprise business tools
  • Responsible use of AI-enabled technologies such as Copilot or similar in accordance with company policies
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
