About the role

  • Accounting Technician processing petroleum freight, reconciliations, and reporting for Federated Co-operatives Limited. Supporting Western Canadian co-ops through accurate corporate accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Batch, key, and adjust meter tickets
  • Confirm freight information and follow up on missing or rejected EDI tickets from CCRL
  • Code and process freight charges for common carriers and lease operators
  • Track and pay lease operator holdbacks
  • Set up unconfirmed freight
  • Prepare cost/sales and petroleum operations reports
  • Assist with month-end activities
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and common carrier claims from distribution centres
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Collaborate with five other Accounting Technicians and report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Two (2) post-secondary courses in financial accounting from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • One year of relevant accounting experience
  • Detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • May be required to complete a criminal record check in accordance with FCL policies
