About the role

  • Finance managers partnering with Western Canadian co-ops through budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. Providing strategic insights for investment, cash flow, and business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance partner for an assigned business unit, providing strategic financial advice and supporting key operational and business decisions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Help business leaders identify opportunities to improve financial performance and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Analyze financial results, trends, and key performance indicators to deliver actionable insights and recommendations supporting earnings, cash flow, and capital decisions.
  • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities, challenge assumptions, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop practical solutions.
  • Review investment proposals, capital requests, and business cases for sound financial analysis, governance, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Strengthen financial processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and enhance financial knowledge across the business.
  • Collaborate with Vice Presidents, Directors, assigned business-unit leaders, and Finance partners including Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and Financial Planning & Analysis.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Significant experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business performance analysis
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional designation: CPA, CFA, or CBV
  • May be required to complete a criminal record check in accordance with FCL policies
