About the role

  • C-130 Crew Chief leading aircraft maintenance for Coulson Aviation’s aerial firefighting fleet. Managing safety, airworthiness, compliance, inspections, inventory, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise maintenance personnel assigned to the aircraft
  • Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, mentoring, and training
  • Ensure maintenance is performed safely and complies with Transport Canada regulations, company manuals, approved technical data, and procedures
  • Perform final inspections and sign maintenance releases within the scope of the Transport Canada AME licence and company authorization
  • Review incoming materials and ensure parts and components are identified, controlled, segregated, stored, and maintained properly
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Control Manager and Stores personnel to ensure availability of parts, materials, tools, and supplies
  • Manage inventory, receiving, shipping, core returns, work orders, and maintenance activities in Corridor
  • Plan and coordinate parts provisioning and pre-ordering
  • Troubleshoot complex aircraft systems and oversee post-maintenance inspections, operational checks, and testing
  • Ensure maintenance records, technical logs, worksheets, tracking updates, and work orders are complete and submitted on time
  • Ensure tools, ground-support equipment, and mission-specific equipment are calibrated, stored, maintained, and safe
  • Promote a safe, organized, and professional maintenance environment

Requirements

  • Current Transport Canada AME M2 licence
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of previous Crew Chief experience
  • Previous experience leading aircraft-maintenance personnel in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility or comparable operational environment
  • Strong knowledge of Transport Canada regulations, aircraft-maintenance requirements, and manuals
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex aircraft systems and completing post-maintenance checks
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Valid provincial Class 1 commercial driver’s licence, or ability to obtain one
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous heavy aircraft maintenance experience
  • C-130 Hercules experience preferred; comparable heavy-maintenance aircraft experience accepted
