About the role

Backend engineer building authentication and authorization services for CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity company. Scaling cloud platforms handling trillions of security decisions and millions of events per second.

Responsibilities

Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
Leverage and build cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence production at a global scale
Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams
Champion new technologies and techniques, raising the technical IQ of the team
Mentor and be mentored on web, backend, and data storage technologies and systems
Re-evaluate products to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, and stability
Take ownership and accountability for deliverables
Use and contribute to the open-source community
Build and extend authentication and authorization services handling more than 1 trillion decisions per day
Develop platforms scaling to millions of events per second and terabytes of data per day

Degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
6+ years of backend development experience
Ability to scale backend systems using sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling
Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges
Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies
Ability and desire to ship production code
Team collaboration skills
Thorough understanding of engineering best practices, testing paradigms, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment
Ability to meet commitments on time and produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and regularly checked in for continuous integration
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes
Existing exposure to Go, AWS, GCP, SpiceDB/OpenFGA/Zanzibar, and Kafka
Familiarity with SAML, OAuth, SSO, OIDC, and JWT
Prior cybersecurity or intelligence experience is a bonus
Authored and led successful open-source libraries and projects is a bonus
