About the role

  • Liability and casualty claims adjuster managing claims for ClaimsPro, Canada’s nationwide claims management services provider. Investigating files, supporting customers, and maximizing business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Actively adjust liability and casualty claims
  • Maximize business development opportunities through timely marketing and follow-up
  • Manage a dynamic claims portfolio
  • Complete day-to-day activities while efficiently and effectively progressing file management activities
  • Provide timely and effective customer service
  • Investigate claims and identify cause-and-effect dynamics
  • Interpret complex legal documents and perform advanced numerical calculations
  • Communicate conclusions and claim information effectively
  • Collaborate with claims support, senior executives, business development staff, and branch teams

Requirements

  • Background/experience in Casualty, Bodily Injury, and Liability PD claims
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneDrive
  • Previous adjusting experience preferred
  • Effective written communication skills, including grammar and technical writing
  • Effective oral communication, listening, interviewing, and negotiating skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to the audience
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated and proven leadership skills
  • Sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Proactive and positive approach to customer service
  • Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with conflict and difficult situations
  • Commitment to ongoing education and learning
  • University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance is nice to have
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • CIP designation or working towards designation
  • Adjuster’s license or completion of at least the first four CIP courses: C11, C12, C13, and C14
  • C110: Essentials of Loss Adjusting is nice to have
  • Equivalency in combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Effective analytical skills, including identifying cause-and-effect dynamics
  • Good investigative manner
  • Ability to draw valid conclusions and communicate them effectively
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents
  • Ability to perform and understand advanced numerical calculations and analyze comparative information
