Production Associate assembling, inspecting and testing electronic building-automation products for Delta Controls in Surrey. Performing SMT, through-hole assembly, soldering, final testing and packaging.
Responsibilities
Work across multiple areas of the manufacturing department as business demands change
Initiate action to prevent problems within the product, process or quality system
Document problems and contribute to their resolution
Verify corrective-action implementation and control further processing until problems are corrected
Perform component verifications and set up/verify SMT machines
Monitor and replenish SMT machine components
Visually inspect SMT and through-hole products against IPC standards
Record defects by serial number in Delta Production software
Rework solder bridges, missed components, polarity issues and other faults below standards
Post-solder and hand-solder components as required
Depanelize product boards using approved machine, hand or jig methods
Verify through-hole components against golden samples
Modify assemblies according to Non-Conformance Reports
Prepare components for PCB assembly by bending and trimming raw materials
Set up jobs according to documentation and examples
Test products according to documented test procedures
Inspect for missed or incorrect components and record test data by serial number
Identify products as passed or failed and move them through the assembly process
Request raw materials electronically from the material handling group
Assemble electronic devices in enclosures using online photo and written instructions
Perform final tests, label and package finished products, and transport finished inventory to stock
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent
Able to perform repetitive tasks under time constraints to meet deadlines
Able to work in a team environment
Punctual with good attendance
Self-motivated
Strong attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication and comprehension skills for following instructions, recording/interpreting data, and communicating with employees
Able to operate basic manual and electric hand tools
Able to follow example documentation to meet product requirements
