About the role
- Underwriter providing technical support for property and casualty insurance projects and operational issues. Assisting team members in developing underwriting solutions and adhering to standards and processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for projects and complex operational issues related to property and casualty insurance underwriting.
- Develop underwriting solutions in accordance with current standards and each file’s unique circumstances.
- Serve as resource person for the application of underwriting rules.
- Help employees develop their technical skills.
- Carry out specialized technical studies, research and analysis related to property and casualty insurance underwriting.
- Submit solutions and action plans.
- Help practitioners follow your unit’s standards and processes and use its business solutions, tools and systems.
Requirements
- College diploma in a related field
- A minimum of three years personal lines auto underwriting experience
- CIP designation or working towards designation
- Experience in property underwriting
- Experience working in a call center environment
- Intermediate knowledge of coaching techniques
- Intermediate knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365.
- Available to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Rotation)
