About the role
- Security Advisor strengthening security governance, risk management, and compliance at Desjardins, North America’s largest cooperative financial group. Advising partners and implementing security programs across specialized domains.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize security measures aligned with corporate objectives
- Plan, implement and oversee security best practices to strengthen Desjardins's security posture
- Help develop the Desjardins Group Security Office's priorities and governance
- Advise and assist clients and partners on major security-related initiatives and development projects
- Propose solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies and programs
- Identify and assess risks within the relevant security specialty
- Serve as integrator for projects, processes and initiatives
- Prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on organizational objectives and priorities
- Diagnose issues, risks, needs and challenges to determine target outcomes
- Analyze data and conduct studies
- Make recommendations to develop best practices and organizational initiatives
- Design, update, implement and monitor legal and regulatory compliance action plans, programs, processes, solutions and tools
- Help train internal practitioners, raise awareness and communicate information
- Support outreach activities for internal and external partners and practitioners
- Coordinate with stakeholders working in other fields
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of French is required
- Extensive knowledge in the relevant security field
- Analytical skills and detailed knowledge of the relevant line of business
- Ability to diagnose and assess security issues, risks, needs and challenges
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance
- Ability to coordinate with stakeholders across different fields
- Interpersonal skills
