About the role

  • Security Advisor strengthening security governance, risk management, and compliance at Desjardins, North America’s largest cooperative financial group. Advising partners and implementing security programs across specialized domains.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize security measures aligned with corporate objectives
  • Plan, implement and oversee security best practices to strengthen Desjardins's security posture
  • Help develop the Desjardins Group Security Office's priorities and governance
  • Advise and assist clients and partners on major security-related initiatives and development projects
  • Propose solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies and programs
  • Identify and assess risks within the relevant security specialty
  • Serve as integrator for projects, processes and initiatives
  • Prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on organizational objectives and priorities
  • Diagnose issues, risks, needs and challenges to determine target outcomes
  • Analyze data and conduct studies
  • Make recommendations to develop best practices and organizational initiatives
  • Design, update, implement and monitor legal and regulatory compliance action plans, programs, processes, solutions and tools
  • Help train internal practitioners, raise awareness and communicate information
  • Support outreach activities for internal and external partners and practitioners
  • Coordinate with stakeholders working in other fields

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Extensive knowledge in the relevant security field
  • Analytical skills and detailed knowledge of the relevant line of business
  • Ability to diagnose and assess security issues, risks, needs and challenges
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to coordinate with stakeholders across different fields
  • Interpersonal skills
