About the role

  • Senior Risk Management Advisor shaping strategic initiatives for Desjardins, North America’s largest cooperative financial group. Advising leaders, developing risk policies, and coordinating complex cross-sector projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analysis, research and development to recommend risk management and supervision strategies and priorities
  • Lead and influence development projects and complex, highly innovative strategic initiatives involving multiple sectors
  • Help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions
  • Make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives
  • Advise clients and partners on positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose and address major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
  • Represent the unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations
  • Serve as expert advisor, subject matter expert, resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management and supervision strategies
  • Ability to analyze, diagnose and address major issues
  • Ability to advise clients and partners on strategic projects and initiatives
  • Ability to develop policies, standards, models and programs
  • Ability to represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins
  • Interpersonal savvy and ability to coordinate with stakeholders across multiple fields
