About the role

  • Senior Security Advisor strengthening security governance and practices at Desjardins, North America's largest cooperative financial group. Leading complex initiatives, policies and strategic advice across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize security measures aligned with corporate objectives
  • Plan, implement and oversee security best practices to strengthen Desjardins's security posture
  • Develop priorities and governance for the Desjardins Group Security Office
  • Lead practitioners on development projects and complex, cross-sector strategic initiatives related to security
  • Develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions
  • Lead large-scale security development projects, initiatives and activities with organization-wide impact
  • Advise clients and partners on positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze, report and diagnose major issues and recommend solutions to decision-making bodies
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs
  • Offer security programs to internal employees to promote ethics and compliance
  • Represent the unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations
  • Serve as an expert advisor, subject matter expert, resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Expertise in one or more security sub-specialties, such as personal information and data protection, information security, physical security, or financial crime and fraud prevention
  • Extensive, in-depth knowledge in the relevant field of expertise
