About the role
- Senior Interior Designer guiding complex aviation and transit projects from concept through completion at DIALOG, a multidisciplinary design firm. Leading teams, coordinating consultants, and delivering sustainable design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and coordinate design, project, and firm information to internal and external parties
- Prepare and coordinate schematic and conceptual design drawings
- Prepare layouts, sketches, and space plans conveying design intent
- Lead, mentor, and manage the project team
- Apply project management, budget, schedule, and architectural standards knowledge
- Coordinate or prepare project documents, minutes, schedules, and specifications
- Apply building codes and construction regulations
- Coordinate electrical, mechanical, structural, and other consultants or vendors
- Coordinate or undertake selection and specification of furniture, finishes, equipment, and accessories
- Prepare FF+E documentation
- Lead site visits and field reviews
- Conduct site deficiency reviews and installation inspections
- Guide complex, large-scale aviation and transit projects from planning through completion
- Build trusted client relationships
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
- 10+ years of experience in Interior Design consulting
- Experience and passion for working on conceptual and innovative projects in the aviation or transit sector is a requirement
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Revit, Navisworks, Photoshop and InDesign
- Proven experience participating in client engagement processes from programming and conceptual design through construction phases
- Excellent communication skills, team oriented, accountable, and highly motivated
- Effective coordination with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary team and managing deliverables, schedules, time, and fees
- NCIDQ certification is an asset
- SketchUp and Rhino experience is an asset
