Lead Rental Technician responsible for diagnostics and maintenance of large equipment at The Home Depot. Training associates and managing tool rentals in the Greater Toronto Area.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, inspect and repair gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, fuel, and brake systems
Complete safety campaigns, and PDI new and existing equipment
Assess down tools, order parts, complete repairs, and update leadership on critical timelines
Maintain GPS and track asset moves between locations and job sites
Maintain accurate drivers log, inspections, and provincial transportation compliance
Train and support rental associates and mobile service technicians on Large Equipment procedures and routine maintenance standards
Act as the escalation contact and deliver job-site support within 24 hours
Requirements
Minimum 2 years in heavy equipment, light industrial, or gas mechanical systems
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license, clean record, and tandem-axle towing experience
Skilled in complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics and repairs
Able to read repair manuals, schematics, and parts guides
Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and diagnostic apps
Must provide standard hand/trade tools
Lift up to 50 lbs; bend, kneel, crawl, and climb onto equipment as needed
Work outdoors in Canadian weather with exposure to noise, fumes, dirt, and grease
Live within 25 km of the target location or be willing to commute
