About the role

  • Home Depot Store Human Resources Manager building an engaged workforce for a new Fort McMurray retail store. Leading associate relations, workforce planning, staffing, and succession planning.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a business leader who builds an engaged workforce meeting current and future business needs
  • Model company values and foster associate engagement
  • Oversee associate relations practices, including town halls, investigations, performance management, compensation, health and safety, recognition, open door policy, and communications
  • Complete the annual workforce plan, including talent, recruitment, and cross-training strategies
  • Ensure the store workforce reflects the diversity of the local community
  • Identify staffing needs and initiate, coordinate, and participate in store job fairs
  • Build and edit weekly staffing schedules
  • Lead quarterly talent discussions and succession planning
  • Support leaders with change initiatives and business challenges
  • Apply industry trends to critical initiatives
  • Review customer satisfaction scores to identify trends and opportunities
  • Participate in weekly business walks to support and coach leaders and enhance selling and service behaviors

Requirements

  • 3–5 years HR Generalist experience preferred but not required
  • Broad knowledge and experience across the many HR disciplines
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including some evenings/weekends
  • Retail or Hospitality experience an asset but not required
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and able to influence others
  • Strong organization skills, ability to prioritize and customer service driven
