Intern role supporting renewable energy project development teams in North America. Engaging in multiple aspects of project development, from ideation to community engagement and market analysis.
Responsibilities
Project Development: various tasks, including helping with permitting, land control, and project management tasks for new wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
Business Development: supporting the investment thesis for new projects and markets; cost-benefit analysis and financial analysis of project and contract design for new projects.
Presentation and Approvals: assisting in the buildup of project review and approval presentations; opportunity to present to team of subject matter experts and management.
Power Marketing: reading Power Purchase Agreements and understanding how contractual obligations impact project development and economics.
Competition Tracking: following news outlets and market reports to identify competitor sites and quantify the risk they may pose to the success of EDFps’ portfolio.
Greenfield Development: identify potential locations for new projects using GIS software and working with team to assess value of sites.
Community Engagement: providing research and drafting responses for questions and concerns that come from the community, for both solar, wind and energy storage projects.
Land Use Justification for Solar: researching benefits and opportunities for siting solar projects on farmland and creating content that helps market in a positive way.

Requirements
Undergraduate or Graduate Student
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Graduate Degree in Business, Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering or related discipline.
Prior knowledge of the renewable energy industry is an asset, but not a requirement.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Curious and not afraid to ask questions or dig deeper into an issue or a problem.
High attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all activities.
