About the role
- Accountant managing SPV finances, HST filings, cash flows, and reporting for EllisDon’s large-scale P3 construction projects. Coordinating lenders, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist with comprehensive financial management of and accounting for special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for Public–Private Partnership (P3) projects
- Coordinate between lenders, legal counsel, consultants, construction contractors, service providers, SPV vendors, and internal managers
- Manage payments, receipts, and distributions
- Assist with full-cycle accounting for SPVs
- Prepare monthly HST filings for each SPV
- Assist with preparing and assessing SPV cash flow projections
- Identify material variances and ensure ongoing compliance with SPV cash flow curves and project agreements
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for partners
- Assist with year-end audits
- Participate in special projects for the EllisDon group of companies as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience working in an accounting or financial administration role
- May be interested in pursuing a CPA designation
- Comfortable working with a high volume of data
- Interested in understanding and working with complex spreadsheet formulas
- Well-organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with QuickBooks or other accounting software
- Able to work in Mississauga, ON or London, ON
