About the role

  • Software Developer Intern building secure identity and data-protection solutions at Entrust. Developing Go features, plugins, cloud deployments, and AI-assisted security software in Ottawa.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Discovery team on a system integrating with third-party and open-source technologies via plugins
  • Develop plugins and support an SDK for partners
  • Design and develop new features in Go and other programming languages
  • Use Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, GitHub Copilot, VS Code, and open-source tools
  • Collaborate with sales, support, product development, and professional services teams
  • Write automation and deploy software to Docker containers, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and Azure
  • Contribute to a CI/CD pipeline delivering tested code to cloud environments
  • Implement security features for consumers, retailers, banks, and national governments
  • Learn and apply a secure software development lifecycle
  • Use AI models, agents, and tools to accelerate software development safely and reliably

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate Computer Science program
  • Completed at least two years of coursework in the current program
  • Must indicate last complete year of study and GPA
  • Comfortable working in two or more programming languages
  • Detail-oriented with time management and planning skills
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication
  • Able to locate in Ottawa and work a hybrid schedule three days per week in the office
  • Previous software development work terms or relevant projects preferred
  • Knowledge of or interest in React, Vite, Open API, Angular, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks preferred
  • Experience using tools to manage, build, and test written code preferred
  • Experience developing software with AI assistance or implementing AI-based solutions preferred
  • Comfortable developing software on Linux or macOS preferred
