Senior Building Envelope Specialist delivering building envelope consulting for Entuitive’s building design and construction firm. Leading new construction, restoration, forensic assessment, and project delivery in Calgary.
Responsibilities
Execute building envelope consulting projects for new construction and existing building repair, restoration, renewal, condition, and forensic assessment
Design and assess the performance of building envelope systems
Provide technical expertise and guidance as a Project Principal
Lead small- to large-scale projects through project management, team leadership, coordination, and project delivery
Manage project budgets through cost control, scheduling, and resourcing to meet deliverables
Research new products and systems for project portfolios
Assist with design, drawing, and specification review for new construction projects
Perform computer-aided analysis of building envelope details and performance
Conduct forensic inspections of existing buildings to diagnose failures and determine system condition
Write reports related to field work and research
Prepare tender specifications, drawings, and sketches
Conduct field reviews and contract administration duties
Requirements
Minimum 8 years’ work experience in building envelope consulting
Bachelor’s degree in building science, engineering or architecture; or equivalent training
Registration as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. or eligibility for registration is considered an asset
Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation is considered an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders
Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget
Must be willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders and working on swing stage
Knowledge and interest in building performance, thermal bridging, embodied carbon and climate resiliency and adaptation are considered an asset
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle and maintain throughout employment
Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset
