About the role

  • Backend Engineer designing APIs and integration architecture for EvenUp's AI-powered legal-tech platform. Improving client portal experiences and application performance from Toronto or San Francisco hubs.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the full project lifecycle across the stack, from conception to deployment and iteration
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, product owners, and designers to develop efficient, innovative solutions
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions
  • Design and develop interfaces and integration architecture
  • Document technical interface requirements and convert specifications into technical designs
  • Solve problems using programming skills across multiple coding languages and frameworks
  • Optimize application performance and responsiveness
  • Enhance EvenUp's integration engine and help shape future innovations

Requirements

  • Over 3 years of hands-on, relevant experience crafting applications and services
  • Experience integrating with third-party vendors
  • Experience designing and implementing efficient and dependable integration frameworks
  • Skilled in crafting RESTful APIs adhering to industry best practices and standards
  • Solid grasp of software development fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Familiarity with SOAP, REST, and GraphQL protocols
  • Familiarity with server-side languages such as SQL
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas or issues in easy-to-understand and actionable terms
  • Experience with React/Typescript, AI, legal tech, and social impact projects is a bonus
  • Ability to work in-person at least 3 days a week from the Toronto or San Francisco office hub
