Senior Accountant managing GAAP close, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and controls for EverCommerce’s SaaS service-commerce platform. Supporting subsidiaries and cross-functional financial operations remotely within Canada.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the general ledger for assigned subsidiaries
Own payroll and employee-related accounting end to end, including payroll actuals and accruals, bonuses, commissions, severance, 401(k), employee benefits, HSA/FSA, and related reconciliations
Analyze monthly financial statements and variances against prior periods and explain findings
Summarize and present flux explanations to management
Prepare work papers and month-end reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and selected income statement accounts
Identify discrepancies and provide potential resolutions
Collaborate with FP&A, Revenue Operations, Legal, Tax, and other stakeholders
Assist with intercompany, lease, debt, segment, and M&A transactional accounting
Ensure effective internal controls over assigned GL areas and address deficiencies with internal audit
Ensure compliance with SOX and IPE requirements
Identify process improvements and lead initiatives to streamline month-end close and general ledger processes
Report to the Accounting Manager
Requirements
3+ years of accounting experience in a similar field
BS/BA degree in accounting required
Strong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes of a public company
Working knowledge of US GAAP standards and understanding internal controls
Strong diligence, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to solve issues and work independently
Strong accountability for assigned work
Proficient Excel skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience as a Senior Accountant preferred
Experience in a SaaS GL Accounting role
Big 4 or public accounting experience
CPA or current CPA candidate
Experience with NetSuite, OneStream, or another ERP software
Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
