About the role
- Senior Software Engineer growing Invoice Simple’s invoicing platform for small businesses. Building scalable TypeScript and React solutions while guiding engineers and shipping product features.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical reference on a focused engineering team building and supporting Invoice Simple’s platform
- Influence team members and mentor emerging technical leaders
- Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to refine the product roadmap
- Stay current with technologies, frameworks, and tooling that improve the software development lifecycle
- Help plan and drive product feature execution
- Actively participate in software development, implementing and shipping code
- Lead product refinement sessions
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions addressing customer and business goals
- Encourage scalable design and best engineering practices
- Set quality standards and ensure solutions are easy to support
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional industry experience delivering scalable software solutions as a software engineer
- 3+ years of experience building modern apps using React, Typescript, and Tailwind
- Familiarity with cloud computing services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and how to address them
- Deep understanding of the NodeJS ecosystem and frontend/backend tooling such as Webpack and Vite
- Extensive expertise in database modeling and caching technologies across relational and document stores, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and construction
- Experience with large-scale third-party integrations
- Experience across object-oriented and functional programming paradigms
- Familiarity with Git, Docker, and GitHub Actions
- Experience with automated testing and quality code reviews
- Experience with agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Scrum, and Kanban
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (nice to have)
