About the role
- Senior Software Engineer guiding growth of Invoice Simple, EverCommerce’s invoicing platform for small businesses. Building scalable React, TypeScript, NodeJS, and database solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical reference on a small, highly focused engineering team building and supporting Invoice Simple’s long-term platform growth
- Influence team members and mentor emerging technical leaders
- Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to refine the product roadmap
- Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tooling to improve the software development lifecycle
- Help plan and drive product-feature execution
- Participate actively in software development, implementing and shipping code
- Lead product refinement sessions
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions addressing customer and business goals
- Promote scalable design and best engineering practices to ensure solutions are easy to support
- Provide technical guidance and direction through design, implementation, automated testing, and integration testing
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional industry experience delivering scalable software solutions as a software engineer
- 3+ years of experience building smooth, modern apps using React, Typescript, and Tailwind
- Curious, data-driven, and you love to ask questions
- Passionate for crafting innovative, scalable and robust solutions for open-ended problems
- Familiarity with Cloud computing services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and how to address them
- Deep understanding of the NodeJS ecosystem and backend and frontend tooling such as Webpack and Vite
- Extensive expertise in database modeling and caching technologies across relational and document stores, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and construction
- Experience with large-scale third-party integrations
- Experience across object-oriented and functional programming paradigms
- Familiarity with Git, Docker, and GitHub Actions
- Passion for automated testing and quality code reviews
- Experience with agile development methodologies and tools, including JIRA, Scrum, and Kanban
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship
- Nice to have: experience with massively adopted applications, React Native, NextJS, in-app subscriptions, data-driven experiments and A/B tests, and engineering leadership
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field is listed as nice to have
