Responsibilities

Perform calculations, structural analyses, and designs for port and marine structures in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
Participate in the design and development of port and marine structure projects in collaboration with a team of technicians and professionals.
Prepare plans and specifications for the design and rehabilitation of port and marine structures.
Prepare cost estimates based on quantity takeoffs and the solutions selected for each project.
Conduct engineering studies for the construction and rehabilitation of various steel and concrete structures.
Conduct damage surveys in the field and any other expert assessments required to carry out projects, and/or supervise the project team performing the surveys.
Provide design support during the construction phases.
Develop business opportunities related to the port infrastructure market.
Contribute to the effective operation of a team of engineers and technicians in delivering projects.
Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, clients, contractor partners, major suppliers, and subcontractors.
Share knowledge and experience with team members.
Serve as, or become, a technical resource.
Perform any other duties related to the position.

Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Have professional experience in port structures.
Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) as a licensed engineer.
Be resourceful, responsible, and organized.
Have strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of modeling and design software is an asset, including Advance Design America, SAFI, SAP, CSI Bridges, Midas, LPILE, ShapeBuilder, Mathcad, Microsoft Office Suite, and others.
Possess strong technical knowledge of port structure design.
Have a thorough understanding of the codes and technologies related to port structure design, as well as the general requirements of port clients.
Have experience designing steel and reinforced concrete structures.
