About the role

  • Hydrogeologist leading groundwater studies, dewatering programs, and infrastructure projects for EXP’s engineering and environmental consulting practice. Managing clients, field programs, reports, and junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients to understand needs and deliver practical, value-driven solutions
  • Lead and shape scopes of work for public and private clients on small- to large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Manage and execute hydrogeological studies, including groundwater resource development, groundwater characterization, septic application studies, construction dewatering, pump tests, municipal sewer discharge studies, and MECP permits
  • Manage and coordinate site investigation and compliance programs
  • Coordinate and supervise field programs
  • Review and guide the technical work of junior and intermediate staff
  • Prepare and review high-quality technical reports
  • Support proposal development and contribute to business growth
  • Provide technical and project support across a broad range of assignments
  • Engage clients, manage project delivery, and shape project outcomes

Requirements

  • University degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in physical hydrogeology
  • Strong field-based experience in groundwater supply, hydrogeological investigations, and assessments
  • Professional designation in Ontario (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) is an asset
  • Experience with GIS/CAD programs and groundwater modelling is an asset
  • Proven success developing client relationships and contributing to winning proposals
  • Hands-on experience working with MECP, municipalities, and Conservation Authorities
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects from planning through delivery
  • Strong business acumen and a practical, solution-focused mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing junior staff
  • Comfortable operating in a high-demand, fast-paced environment
