About the role

  • Senior QA Analyst testing payment APIs, distributed systems, and Kafka event flows for Expleo, a global engineering and consulting organization. Designing automation and validating end-to-end transaction quality in a hybrid Montreal role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, and execute test cases for banking and payment transaction flows across APIs, integrations, and event-driven systems
  • Validate the quality, reliability, resilience, and testability of solutions throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Test critical payment flows in distributed architectures, including API transactions, messaging platforms, event processing, and associated business outcomes
  • Develop and execute multi-layer test strategies, including API testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and non-functional testing
  • Contribute to test automation initiatives and participate in the development and maintenance of automated test assets
  • Use quality metrics, anomaly trends, and operational data to improve testing effectiveness and reduce delivery risk
  • Identify and communicate technical risks, testing gaps, quality debt, and optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to embed quality and testability into solution design
  • Track and manage defects, test execution activities, and quality metrics using Jira or similar tools
  • Support continuous improvement of QA practices, automation, and quality engineering

Requirements

  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, API testing, integration testing, or quality engineering
  • Strong experience in API testing, including validating request/response behavior, integration points, data payloads, and transaction flows
  • Experience testing event-driven architectures and messaging-based systems, including Kafka or similar technologies
  • Experience creating test cases, executing tests, analyzing results, and managing defects through to resolution
  • Strong understanding of integration testing and end-to-end business process validation
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize testing activities by business risk and criticality
  • Ability to work effectively with developers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional delivery teams
  • Bilingual communication skills in French and English
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in the banking, financial services, or payments sectors
  • Experience testing payment processing systems, financial transaction platforms, or regulated environments
  • Experience contributing to test automation initiatives
  • Knowledge of Java and/or Python
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and modern software delivery practices
  • Experience with Jira and related quality management tools
  • Prior experience in large enterprise environments
