About the role

  • Senior Advisor strengthening portfolio governance at EDC, Canada’s export finance corporation. Optimizing Planview, overseeing transformation initiatives, and producing executive and board-level reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide portfolio governance oversight by reinforcing adherence to the Initiative Lifecycle Framework, including gates, checkpoints, and controls
  • Act as a second-line function by applying independent challenge, monitoring compliance, and supporting coordination with internal audit
  • Lead and support continuous improvement of governance frameworks and portfolio processes
  • Drive process optimization, including lifecycle processes, change requests, and financial governance practices
  • Optimize Planview and portfolio tooling to strengthen reporting, data quality, and decision support
  • Apply expertise in portfolio, program, risk, financial, and resource management to support effective delivery across initiatives
  • Support major program reviews, business case oversight, and change governance
  • Contribute to strategic planning and portfolio modeling aligned to enterprise priorities
  • Support leadership in governance readiness and planning for IOC and EELG cycles
  • Lead and contribute to executive and board-level reporting on the transformation portfolio
  • Govern strategic initiatives, balance the portfolio, visualize risks, and align transformation requests with EDC’s strategy
  • Ensure approved initiatives follow the Initiative Lifecycle Framework throughout their full lifecycle
  • Ensure Planview is available and functional by reviewing data quality to support Financial Management and Portfolio Performance
  • Create centralized reports communicating progress against EDC’s strategic objectives and initiative status

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise portfolio management, governance, or advisory roles
  • Proven ability to work across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong understanding of portfolio and project management frameworks, including PMBOK, Lean Portfolio Management, and Agile
  • Experience with governance frameworks, lifecycle processes, and compliance oversight
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with Planview or similar portfolio management tools
  • Exposure to financial governance, audit, or large-scale transformation programs
  • Relevant certifications, such as PMP, Agile, or Lean Portfolio Management
  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)
  • Able to work legally in Canada at the time of application; Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents
  • Must meet requisite government security screening requirements
