About the role

  • Senior Quality Engineer/Lead modernizing AI-enabled testing at EDC, Canada’s export-finance corporation. Building Python and Robot Framework automation across enterprise software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive functional, integration, end-to-end, and customer-centric test suites
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation solutions using Python and Robot Framework
  • Develop reusable automation libraries, frameworks, and testing components
  • Automate testing across APIs, web applications, integrations, backend services, and end-to-end workflows
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates
  • Define and execute automation strategies based on risk, business value, and maintainability
  • Improve automation reliability, coverage, performance, and execution speed
  • Lead quality engineering practices across an AI-enabled and Agentic SDLC
  • Use AI-assisted tools for test design, automation development, defect analysis, and reporting
  • Validate AI-generated test cases, automation code, and recommendations before production use
  • Develop testing approaches for AI-powered applications, agents, and autonomous workflows
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, product teams, and business stakeholders to embed quality throughout the SDLC
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and standards for automation, quality engineering, and AI-assisted testing practices
  • Contribute hands-on coding, design, build, support, and operations for the DPDA group

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Test Automation, SDET, Quality Engineering, or Software Development delivering enterprise-scale solutions
  • 2+ years of experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and modern AI-enabled SDLC practices
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms is an asset
  • Experience integrating intelligent automation into Quality Engineering and CI/CD workflows is an asset
  • Able to work legally in Canada at the time of application; Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents preferred
  • Must meet requisite government security screening requirements
