About the role
- SQA Engineer automating testing and risk-based validation for EDC, Canada’s export-credit and trade-finance Crown corporation. Improving reliability across integrated digital systems.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to software development with a focus on quality, reliability, and validation
- Embed quality practices into development workflows
- Build, maintain, and evolve automated tests and validation mechanisms across systems, services, and data flows
- Increase automation coverage and reduce reliance on manual testing
- Review and validate AI-assisted outputs, including code, test cases, and data flows
- Partner with the Tech Lead to define and implement quality standards and risk-based testing approaches
- Identify critical paths, risks, and dependencies across systems
- Support end-to-end and cross-system integration validation
- Continuously improve testing and validation processes
- Identify opportunities to automate manual activities and streamline delivery workflows
- Work with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders across the delivery lifecycle
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development, testing, or quality engineering roles
- Strong understanding of testing concepts, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to analyze system behavior and identify quality risks and gaps
- Experience working with automated testing tools and validation approaches
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work with AI-assisted tools while maintaining critical judgment
- Candidates must be able to work legally in Canada at the time of application; preference given to Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents
