About the role

  • Data Advisor advancing GMF’s Canadian municipal sustainability funding through dashboards, data systems, and program evaluation. Supporting risk monitoring, information systems, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with GMF teams to produce program dashboards and reports using Power BI, CRM, and GLMS
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of program data
  • Create visual representations of program data and results, including graphs, charts, and maps
  • Develop, update, and maintain data collection and analysis tools
  • Manage and execute data extraction requests from CRM, GLMS, and related business systems
  • Validate and prepare data for operational, reporting, and stakeholder requirements
  • Identify, develop, optimize, and implement data management and reporting best practices and business processes
  • Support evidence-based, data-informed risk monitoring and management at program and portfolio levels
  • Support Programs leadership and liaise with the Information Systems team on department priorities and system change requests
  • Help program design leads follow consistent information systems processes for new program launches and system enhancements
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and support consistent process and standards implementation
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct research and analysis related to program design, performance management, and improvement
  • Support working groups, information management, and stakeholder coordination
  • Support development and production of French content as needed
  • Promote collaboration, information sharing, and knowledge brokering
  • Support development and improvement of GMF funding offers and their integration with GMF operations
  • Participate in working groups and design workshops or consultations as assigned

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (public or business administration, economics, data science, project management, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in conducting research, data management and/or analysis, project management, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and developing written materials for a professional audience
  • Strong knowledge of business support processes and tools
  • Advanced data manipulation and visualization skills using Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft PowerPoint, customer-relationship management software, and database management
  • Demonstrated experience with storytelling and visualization techniques using Excel, Power BI, Microsoft CRM, and related tools
  • Professional, academic, and/or lived experience in monitoring, evaluation, and organizational learning; funding program design and operations; or program reporting and performance management
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and contribute to technical content
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent research and project coordination skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and verbal English
  • French fluency is a strong asset
  • Must live within 80 km of downtown Ottawa, unless otherwise specified
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
  • Assets: experience in stakeholder engagement, equity principles, lean methodologies/continuous improvement, project management, design thinking, meeting leadership, presentations/trainings, municipal government structures, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), distributed computing frameworks (Spark), SQL, Python, TextBlob, scikit-learn, and DAX
