About the role

  • Application Specialist managing Salesforce and Certinia at Fidus, a high-tech design firm in Ottawa. Bridging technology and process optimization in financial systems and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Primary administrator for Salesforce and Certinia, overseeing configuration, upgrades, permissions and security.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by implementing solutions within Salesforce and integrated platforms.
  • Maintain and enhance data integrity, ensuring clean, consistent, and accurate data across leads, opportunities, projects, and financial records.
  • Manage page layouts, calculated fields, and reporting tools to support functional teams (Sales, Project Management, Finance, HR).
  • Oversee Certinia Professional Service Automation and Finance/Accounting updates, ensuring compatibility and feature adoption with each release.
  • Support reporting and analytics through dashboards, integrations, and AI-driven insights.
  • Coordinate system integrations between Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Certinia, ADP, IVO, Azure (EntraID & GraphAPI), and other business systems.
  • Partner with Finance to streamline billing, expense, and collections automation within Certinia.
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations on contract management, budget tracking, and employee/vendor record systems.
  • Conduct permissions and security audits, maintaining compliance and ensuring least-privilege access.
  • Provide training, support, and documentation for users to ensure high adoption and efficient system usage.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or the equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator or Application Specialist in a business systems environment.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Advanced Administrator, etc.).
  • Experience with Certinia (FinancialForce) Professional Services and Financial Management modules strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce Flows, security model, and data relationships.
  • Proven track record in business process optimization and automation.
  • Familiarity with data integrations (APIs, middleware, or iPaaS solutions like Tray.io, MuleSoft, Boomi, or Zapier).
  • Experience creating and maintaining custom reports and dashboards (Salesforce Reports, Tableau, or similar BI tools).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and user experience.
  • Background in project management systems, financial systems and/or reporting tools.
