Data Quality Analyst Intern supporting critical data quality initiatives at Finning. Assisting in improving the accuracy and reliability of data used by business systems and customer platforms.
Responsibilities
Review, validate, and update asset and customer data across multiple systems.
Perform data cleansing and remediation activities to improve data accuracy and completeness.
Conduct frequent customer outreach, primarily by phone, to validate, confirm, and enrich customer and asset information.
Complete repetitive data validation, data entry, and follow-up activities with a high level of consistency and attention to detail.
Investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes of recurring data quality issues.
Track phone outreach outcomes, customer responses, and required follow-up actions clearly and accurately.
Document findings, patterns, and recommendations to support long-term improvements.
Maintain accurate records of completed updates and audit trails.
Support reporting and measurement of data quality improvements and business outcomes.
Collaborate with IT and business teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in: Information Technology or Data Analytics or Business Analysis or Business Administration Or a related field.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence making professional phone calls to customers.
Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work for extended periods while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Experience conducting research, data validation, customer outreach.
Experience or being comfortable with engaging customers via telephone to collect, verify, and update key information.
Experience working with databases, SQL, Fabric, Power BI, AI, or related tools.
Understanding of data quality, data governance, or master data management principles.
Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or enterprise business systems is an asset.
