About the role
- Power systems rental project manager leading complex generation-rental projects for Finning Canada. Coordinating installations, operations, subcontractors, budgets, risks, and continuous improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple strategic projects using Finning’s Project Management and Continuous Improvement Methodologies
- Develop and maintain project charters and roadmaps with business owners, process owners, and key stakeholders
- Coordinate rental project activities, including job site installation, operation, and demobilization
- Support proposal development, including equipment specifications, labor planning, and subcontractor coordination
- Mentor and guide project leads, promoting best practices in project management and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with sales, service operations, coordinators, and subcontractors
- Use project management tools to track progress, manage risks, and report on milestones and deliverables
- Champion change management by identifying root causes, implementing solutions, and ensuring sustainable improvements
- Ensure compliance with Finning policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements
- Represent the company professionally and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- 3+ years of project management experience, with a focus on business improvement, change management, or rental operations
- 5+ years of relevant business experience, ideally in a technical, service, or consulting environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence without authority
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and comfort managing ambiguity
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives
- Training in Process Management, Change Management, Quality Management, or Lean Methodologies is preferred
- Project Management certification is an asset
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement frameworks is an asset
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and job site logistics is a strong asset
- Familiarity with Caterpillar Power Systems products is considered an asset
- Availability to respond to emergencies after hours
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of total work hours
