About the role

Responsibilities
- Manage daily transactional accounting activities, including billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Take ownership of a significant portion of the monthly financial close, including account reconciliations, revenue recognition entries, and transaction coding
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE) and sales tax filings
- Identify and leverage opportunities enabled by technology and automation, including agent-based workflows
- Streamline financial processes, reduce manual work, and scale the Finance function
- Participate in the external audit process
- Contribute to cross-functional, ad hoc projects
- Document learnings and flag what is not working
- Collaborate closely with the team and the Controller
Requirements
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting operations
- Strong practical knowledge of revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close
- Excellent knowledge of Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE) and sales tax compliance
- Experience with accounting software, Excel/Google Sheets, and modern SaaS tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
- Sound judgment in determining when to resolve an issue independently and when to escalate it within the team
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines and proactively flag issues
- Curiosity about technology, combined with strong enthusiasm for process improvement and automation in a dynamic, innovative environment
- Desire to thrive on a small team where everyone’s contributions are visible and valued
- Unquestionable ethics, the ability to maintain information confidentiality, and a constant commitment to accuracy and integrity
- Based in Montreal
- Ability to work in both French and English to collaborate with our internal and external partners across Canada
- CPA designation preferred
