About the role

  • Associate HR Business Partner supporting managers and employees at Fortinet, a cybersecurity company. Applying workforce analytics, generative AI, and automation to improve HR decisions and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a day-to-day HR partner for an assigned client group across the employee lifecycle
  • Coach managers on performance management, employee relations, talent decisions and team effectiveness
  • Develop business and organizational context to provide practical HR recommendations
  • Support talent reviews, compensation cycles, organizational changes, workforce planning and other key people processes
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations, HRIS and other HR teams
  • Analyze hiring, attrition, performance, compensation, mobility and organizational workforce data
  • Identify why trends occurred, what they mean and what actions the business should consider
  • Use quantitative data and employee or manager feedback to identify patterns and emerging issues
  • Partner with engineering and HRIS teams to use generative AI and AI-enabled tools
  • Identify and test practical AI use cases in HR
  • Share effective AI practices and increase AI fluency across the team
  • Map HR processes and recommend opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate or eliminate work
  • Partner with HR Operations, HRIS and internal AI or technology resources on automation opportunities
  • Measure whether new processes and tools improve efficiency, quality and employee or manager experience

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in HR, ideally including HR generalist, employee relations, HR operations or business-partnering experience
  • Strong HR fundamentals and working knowledge of British Columbia employment practices
  • Curiosity about the business and an interest in understanding how people decisions affect organizational performance
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with workforce data
  • Advanced Excel skills are highly valued
  • Demonstrated use of generative AI or other AI-enabled tools to improve how you work
  • A builder mindset and ability to identify simpler, more scalable ways of working
  • Ability to break down a business or HR problem, analyze available information and recommend a practical solution
  • Comfort learning new technology and experimenting with unfamiliar tools
  • Experience with an HRIS such as Oracle HCM preferred
  • Experience with data visualization, workflow automation or low-code/no-code tools is an advantage but not required
  • Experience in technology or another fast-moving environment preferred
  • Strong judgment, communication skills and discretion when handling sensitive employee matters
  • High level of personal integrity
