About the role
- Intermediate Software QA Developer testing Fortinet’s cybersecurity products through manual and automated QA. Maintaining network test systems and collaborating with developers in Burnaby.
Responsibilities
- Execute feature and bug-fix testing using manual and automated testing techniques and code analysis
- Identify, document, and track software defects
- Automate front-end testing and use other automation tools
- Collaborate with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed
- Set up, maintain, and operate experimental and hot-test network systems
Requirements
- 2+ years of software quality assurance or network engineering experience in IT or a related industry
- Experience in routing, switching, or network security fields preferred
- Unix/Linux experience required
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, switching, and routing
- Familiarity with system maintenance and troubleshooting
- Understanding of software and hardware components
- Ability to write clear and reproducible problem reports and test results
- Knowledge of firewalls, Linux, and packet capture utilities such as Wireshark
- System installation, configuration, and troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language: Shell, Ruby, Perl, Python, etc.
- Background in cloud computing is a plus
