About the role

  • Senior Simulation Scientist building Workbench’s warehouse simulation engine for Fulfillment IQ, a supply chain engineering company. Leading zero-to-one modeling, product integration, and simulation team growth.

Responsibilities

  • Translate warehouse operational processes into mathematical simulation models at various levels of granularity
  • Identify the right simulation paradigm or combination for each problem and select appropriate tools
  • Benchmark simulation engine performance across warehouse operation types
  • Prioritize simulation product features and establish the technical and product roadmap
  • Oversee development and integration efforts
  • Assemble and lead the team building and maintaining the simulation engine
  • Design, build, and own Workbench’s warehouse simulation engine
  • Create simulation models capturing warehouse operational dynamics
  • Lead integration of the simulation engine into FIQ’s main product
  • Work closely with the Chief Scientist, domain experts, and developers

Requirements

  • Experience and understanding of warehouse or supply chain operations
  • Hands-on experience in designing and building simulation models
  • Good understanding of different simulation paradigms and when to use (or not to use) them
  • Comfort in a zero-to-one, high-ambiguity environment
  • Strong engineering ability to build the models and the tooling around them
  • A Master's or PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Bachelor's with equivalent hands-on simulation experience
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada
