About the role

  • Product and business development manager for an international food ingredients distributor. Developing principals, supporting sales managers, and growing B2B oil, fats, cocoa, and food ingredients business across EMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop assigned groups of principals and ingredients overall
  • Act as a bridge between Sales Managers in 40 countries and principals
  • Focus on strategic topics and bringing value to the market
  • Become a key contact person for principals on strategic and company-wide topics
  • Ensure achievement of principals’ objectives and keep them informed about potentials, projects, activities, sales data and market studies
  • Coach Sales Managers on strategic matters
  • Share principal information, organize training, discuss quarter plans and analyze market trends and customer plans
  • Ensure proper use of reporting tools, monitoring tools, CRM and laboratories
  • Support daily business through technical advice, price negotiations with principals and joint customer visits
  • Recruit and train new Sales Managers in coordination with Country Managers
  • Anticipate market trends and develop tools to follow them
  • Work with principals, Sales Managers and internal application centers/labs
  • Analyze the portfolio and search for potential new principals when needed
  • Develop internal structures such as reporting structures, central stock, central sampling, technical service and laboratories in coordination with the Board
  • Report to the CSO
  • Functionally lead Sales Managers
  • Directly manage the Supplier Service Manager
  • Begin as an application technologist in the laboratory and transition into the new role with training from the current job holder

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Technology / university degree in food technology
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in food ingredients
  • Deep technological application know-how in food segments/categories
  • Sales experience, preferably in a multicultural geographical zone, mostly EMEA
  • Experience working for a distributor or a food ingredients producer managing food ingredients distributors
  • Experience selling food ingredients B2B, not FMCG
  • Communicative, proactive, analytical thinking, supportive skills and dedication to sell added-value ingredient specialties
  • Management, leadership and team-player skills
  • Perfect English
  • Prepared to travel, with a minimum travel ratio of 30%
