About the role

  • Software Test Specialist validating Genetec’s Security Center physical-security platform. Testing backend systems, databases, scalability, and reliability with PowerShell and Kanban teams.

Responsibilities

  • Validate new and existing functionalities of Genetec’s Security Center unified physical-security platform
  • Design, create, and execute manual test cases for backend systems and databases
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing to validate backend processes, performance, and scalability
  • Identify, document, and track software defects
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and team members to understand requirements and design testing strategies
  • Verify data flow between backend systems and system integrity
  • Analyze system logs, performance metrics, database operations, and responses to identify issues and bottlenecks
  • Use PowerShell to streamline testing workflows
  • Prepare and deliver test summary reports and documentation
  • Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and tools
  • Work in cross-functional teams using Kanban agile methodology

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in manual software testing, preferably on backend systems
  • Strong understanding of backend architecture, databases, and data flow
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including basic command-line usage, navigation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL and PowerShell scripting
  • Ability to read and analyze system logs, including performance metrics, and debug backend issues
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting in a Windows Server environment
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written
  • Assets: experience with Git; proficiency in C# and the .NET framework; advanced Linux/Unix scripting and system administration
