About the role

  • L3 IT Technician managing Microsoft 365, Azure, networks, security, virtualization, and backups. Supporting Genius Solutions’ ERP software for manufacturing companies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day L3 technical support and complete delegated tasks from the Network Administrator
  • Bridge the Network Administrator and L1/L2 IT Technicians by relaying direction, priorities, and technical guidance
  • Administer Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune
  • Manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including Entra ID, virtual machines, networking, and backup/disaster recovery
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, switches, routers, FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi
  • Manage virtualization and backup infrastructure using Nutanix, Proxmox, VMWare, and Veeam
  • Implement and monitor IT security practices, including endpoint protection, MFA, patch management, and vulnerability remediation
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex escalated issues
  • Use AI tools such as Claude for troubleshooting, documentation, and routine-task automation
  • Travel to the office for emergencies, scheduled maintenance, and other operational needs
  • Participate in an on-call/after-hours rotation
  • Maintain accurate systems, configuration, and procedure documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, with demonstrated L3 escalation-level experience
  • Knowledge of system internals, code, infrastructure, networks, or product architecture, with ability to diagnose novel or intermittent problems without existing runbooks
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Azure, including Entra ID, virtual machines, networking, and security
  • Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Experience with FortiGate is an asset
  • Experience with Nutanix, Proxmox, VMWare, and Veeam
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic PowerShell programming/scripting skills are an asset
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude for troubleshooting, automation, and documentation
  • Strong communication skills to bridge the Network Administrator and L1/L2 IT Technicians
  • Relevant certifications are an asset, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Security+, or CCNA
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset
  • Must reside in the Quebec City area and be able to travel to the office on short notice
  • Valid driver's license may be required
