Project Manager overseeing budgets, schedules, staff, and contractors for Wood’s global mining and metals engineering projects. Hybrid role based in Saskatoon.
About the role
- Civil Project Coordinator supporting GHD’s mining and heavy infrastructure projects. Coordinating design, construction, schedules, documentation, and field execution from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in the day-to-day execution of mining-related projects
- Coordinate between design teams, field/construction teams, and the Project Manager
- Track project schedules, deliverables, milestones, action items, decisions, and progress reports
- Coordinate internal discipline teams to ensure timely delivery
- Review drawings, specifications, technical documents, contractor submittals, schedules, and work plans
- Support construction activities by responding to RFIs, facilitating information flow, and resolving site issues
- Monitor field progress, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues to the Project Manager
- Attend coordination meetings, document minutes, and track follow-up actions
- Ensure alignment between design intent and field execution
- Track project costs, quantities, and progress metrics for budget and reporting requirements
- Support change management and scope-change documentation
- Maintain organized project documentation
- Promote safety, quality, and compliance with project requirements and standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 3–8 years of experience in civil engineering projects
- Experience preferably in mining or heavy infrastructure
- Experience with roads, earthworks, drainage, culverts, or water management systems
- Strong understanding of design, procurement, and construction project delivery processes
- Ability to coordinate design teams, contractors, and clients
- Familiarity with construction practices and field execution in mining or infrastructure environments
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to track project data, including schedules, action items, RFIs, and deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel, scheduling software, and document control systems
- Willingness to work in office and field environments as required
- EIT or P.Eng. designation, or working toward it, is considered an asset
- Practical problem-solving mindset with focus on execution and follow-through
