About the role

  • Civil Project Coordinator supporting GHD’s mining and heavy infrastructure projects. Coordinating design, construction, schedules, documentation, and field execution from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in the day-to-day execution of mining-related projects
  • Coordinate between design teams, field/construction teams, and the Project Manager
  • Track project schedules, deliverables, milestones, action items, decisions, and progress reports
  • Coordinate internal discipline teams to ensure timely delivery
  • Review drawings, specifications, technical documents, contractor submittals, schedules, and work plans
  • Support construction activities by responding to RFIs, facilitating information flow, and resolving site issues
  • Monitor field progress, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues to the Project Manager
  • Attend coordination meetings, document minutes, and track follow-up actions
  • Ensure alignment between design intent and field execution
  • Track project costs, quantities, and progress metrics for budget and reporting requirements
  • Support change management and scope-change documentation
  • Maintain organized project documentation
  • Promote safety, quality, and compliance with project requirements and standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3–8 years of experience in civil engineering projects
  • Experience preferably in mining or heavy infrastructure
  • Experience with roads, earthworks, drainage, culverts, or water management systems
  • Strong understanding of design, procurement, and construction project delivery processes
  • Ability to coordinate design teams, contractors, and clients
  • Familiarity with construction practices and field execution in mining or infrastructure environments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to track project data, including schedules, action items, RFIs, and deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, scheduling software, and document control systems
  • Willingness to work in office and field environments as required
  • EIT or P.Eng. designation, or working toward it, is considered an asset
  • Practical problem-solving mindset with focus on execution and follow-through
