About the role

Responsibilities

  • Translate the Eastern Canada business plan into an integrated client and market strategy, with clear priorities, investment recommendations and choices across Quebec and the Atlantic provinces
  • Lead regional growth planning in priority markets and sectors
  • Lead the regional approach to the firm’s Client Program, including segmentation, account planning, client interaction teams, diversification, cross-selling and customer satisfaction measures
  • Provide executive leadership and sponsorship for strategic client accounts
  • Monitor market conditions, investments, competitors and emerging technologies to guide regional priorities and capabilities
  • Lead governance for major and strategic regional pursuits, including positioning, Go/No Go recommendations, team strategies, proposals and lessons learned
  • Build strategic partnerships with organizations, contractors, engineering and architecture firms, specialists and Indigenous community organizations
  • Confirm delivery capacity, capabilities, governance and risks before major commitments
  • Foster multidisciplinary and cross-regional collaboration and mobilize expertise across GHD’s Canadian, U.S. and global network
  • Identify gaps in services, leadership and capabilities and contribute to recruitment, succession, development and redeployment plans
  • Promote the use of Salesforce, business intelligence, artificial intelligence and digital tools
  • Represent GHD with priority clients and at industry forums
  • Selectively assume a project leadership or executive partnership role for strategic projects
  • Drive sustainable and profitable growth, develop a qualified pursuit pipeline and convert priority opportunities into a profitable order book
  • Communicate regularly with the Eastern Canada leadership team regarding opportunities, clients, pipeline, risks, resources and required decisions

Requirements

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in professional services, engineering, consulting or a related sector, with a demonstrated track record of leading growth across multiple markets, disciplines and geographic locations
  • Demonstrated ability to translate corporate strategies into focused priorities, coordinated actions and measurable outcomes
  • Strong understanding of public- and private-sector markets in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces, including investment trends, procurement environments and client needs
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic accounts, client interaction teams, major pursuits, partnerships and multidisciplinary growth initiatives
  • Sound commercial judgment and the ability to balance growth, profitability, delivery capacity and risk
  • Ability to make and communicate clear choices regarding priorities, investments, partnerships and opportunities to decline
  • Established relationships with relevant clients, public agencies, contractors, consulting firms and industry partners in Eastern Canada
  • Collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence key stakeholders and mobilize teams without relying solely on direct authority
  • Strong presentation, written and executive communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Experience with Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management platform, and with applying business intelligence to market decisions
  • Preferred professional background in engineering, science, planning, business or a related field
  • French-English bilingualism is a strong asset for this regional leadership role
