Responsibilities
Work on a wide range of mechanical aspects (plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and fire protection) for numerous projects, such as new installations, bringing existing systems up to code and system optimization.
Quickly adapt to different clients' design standards.
Integrate into a multidisciplinary team by building strong working relationships and cooperating with other team members to effectively coordinate activities and achieve project objectives.
Requirements
Design: equipment and accessories for wastewater treatment plants, commercial and institutional buildings; support others by performing prescribed design activities using existing procedures.
Solution analysis: identify the most efficient ways to meet common functional requirements while adhering to internal procedures.
Operational compliance: develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures as well as relevant codes and regulations to ensure that your work complies with these standards. Obtain supervisor approval for any deviations from mandatory procedures.
Personal capacity building: develop your capabilities by participating in evaluation and development planning activities, as well as formal and informal training and mentoring. Maintain and expand your understanding of relevant technologies, external regulations and industry best practices through continuing education, conference attendance and professional publications.
Benefits
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in design and technical drafting
Experience in consulting engineering; minimum 2 years
Proficiency with Revit (required) and AutoCAD
Strong practical knowledge of applicable building codes and standards (Quebec Construction Code, CSA standards, NFPA standards, etc.), specifically in plumbing, ventilation and fire protection
Strong analytical skills; attention to detail and consistent diligence in follow-up
Practical on-site experience for taking measurements/surveys
Ability to exercise sound judgment
Initiative and a strong motivation to learn
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
