About the role

  • QA Team Lead building and mentoring software quality teams for General Motors’ mobile and automotive products. Driving automation, test strategy, and Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and mentor an effective QA team supporting project delivery and software quality
  • Manage team capacity and resources to meet project timelines and quality goals
  • Coach, guide, and provide performance feedback to team members
  • Lead the team in incorporating AI into day-to-day work
  • Manage test automation strategies, leverage available tools, and track annual goals
  • Maintain automated test scripts
  • Support hiring efforts and contribute to acquiring new talent
  • Define test strategies and test plans aligned with software development plans and project requirements
  • Partner with the team to design detailed test cases and establish appropriate test environments
  • Prepare test reports, perform initial issue analysis, and contribute to defect prevention
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within Agile or Scrum-based development teams

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software quality assurance or testing experience in the mobile or automotive industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required
  • 3+ years of experience testing Android-based software
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership capacity such as Scrum Lead, Product Owner, or Team Lead
  • Strong knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies, best practices, and tools
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Robot Framework and Appium
  • Programming experience in languages such as Python and Java
  • Solid understanding of Scrum and Agile software development processes
  • Knowledge of connectivity technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with vehicle communication network protocols such as CAN and Ethernet preferred
  • Advanced degrees and relevant certifications preferred
  • Must not require GM immigration-related sponsorship now or in the future
