About the role
- Senior data engineer designing enterprise data products, self-service APIs, and AI-assisted workflows at GoDaddy. Building trusted data infrastructure that helps entrepreneurs succeed online.
Responsibilities
- Design data models and domain-driven building blocks that turn raw data into reusable, well-governed data products
- Contribute to enterprise data context through semantic models, ontologies, and knowledge bases
- Build end-to-end self-service experiences for data producers and consumers, including onboarding, SQL automation, data quality monitoring, APIs, and workflows
- Build and evolve AI-assisted and agentic automation for migration support, impact assessment, and guided workflows
- Own incident response, lead root-cause analysis and after-action reviews, ship durable fixes, and write runbooks
- Drive Platform UX service priorities with engineering leadership and teams across US and India time zones
- Turn user needs into a prioritized backlog, weigh trade-offs, unblock users, and own delivery outcomes
Requirements
- 7+ years in data engineering, data platform engineering, or software engineering
- Strong data modeling and data architecture skills, including domain-driven design and building reusable data products for downstream consumers
- 5+ years of professional Python experience building APIs, automation, and data or platform tooling
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed data systems
- Experience building self-service data experiences, including APIs, workflows, or tooling
- Experience designing modular, reusable platform patterns such as frameworks, plugins, or marketplaces
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including S3, Lambda, Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift, and API Gateway
- Production experience with lakehouse architectures and Apache Iceberg
- Experience with orchestration using Apache Airflow
- Production experience building agentic or AI-assisted workflows is an additional qualification
- Experience with semantic layers, ontologies, knowledge graphs, or knowledge bases for enterprise data is an additional qualification
- Experience with data quality frameworks, data governance, or access management is an additional qualification
